Penasco Panthers (Penasco, NM) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Taos Tigers (Taos, NM), 39-33 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Penasco upgrades its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Coronado (Gallina, NM) to play the Leopards in a non-league bout on Monday, January 2. The Leopards come into the bout with a record of 2-4. Coronado won 64-19 in their recent non-league bout against Monte Del Sol Charter (Santa Fe, NM)

Next up, the Tigers play the Aztec Tigers (Aztec, NM) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Taos will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 3-7 record after their 38-31 non-league win over Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM).
