Athens Hornets (Athens, TX) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Killeen Kangaroos (Killeen, TX), 66-61 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Athens upgrades its record to 8-11 on the season. The Hornets travel to Wylie East (Wylie, TX) to play the Raiders in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 7-6. Wylie East lost 66-47 in their recent league bout against Wylie (Wylie, TX)

Next up, the Kangaroos play the Kemp Yellowjackets (Kemp, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 28. Killeen will attempt to upgrade on its 2-15 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a 4-14 record after their 86-41 non-league loss to Ennis (Ennis, TX).
