North Carolina High School Basketball - Northeastern can't hold off Bertie

December 27, 2023: Windsor, NC 27983

The Bertie Falcons basketball team scored 62 points and held the visiting Northeastern Eagles to 55 in the Falcons non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Falcons now sport a 6-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hertford County for a non-league contest on Friday, December 29. Bertie will battle a Bears team coming off a 54-28 non-league win over Gates County (Gatesville, NC). The Bears record now stands at 4-1.

The Eagles (3-3) will now prepare for their contest against Holmes (Edenton, NC). The Aces enter the 2A/3A Northeastern Coastal contest with a 6-2 record. In their last contest, Holmes nudged Gates County (Gatesville, NC), 40-35, in a non-league contest.
