Washington High School Basketball - California can't hold off Mercer Island

The Mercer Island Islanders basketball team scored 48 points and held the visiting California Grizzlies to 47 in the Islanders non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Islanders now sport a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Calvary Chapel for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 28. Mercer Island will battle a Eagles team coming off a 77-45 non-league win over Live Oak (Morgan Hill, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 9-6.

The Grizzlies (6-4) will now prepare for their contest against Live Oak (Morgan Hill, CA). The Acorns enter the non-league contest with a 3-7 record. In their last contest, Live Oak was nudged by Calvary Chapel (Santa Ana, CA), 77-45, in a non-league contest.
