The El Capitan Gauchos basketball team scored 61 points and held the host McClatchy Lions to 57 in the Gauchos non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Gauchos now sport a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to El Camino for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 28. El Capitan will meet a Eagles team coming off a 47-36 non-league win over East Union (Manteca, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 5-8.

The Lions (5-9) will now prepare for their contest against East Union (Manteca, CA). The Lancers enter the non-league contest with a 3-10 record. In their last contest, East Union was nudged by El Camino (Sacramento, CA), 47-36, in a non-league contest.
