In Wednesday's non-league match, the visiting Middle Creek Mustangs basketball team scored a tight 46-45 triumph over the South Johnston Trojans.
In their next game, the Mustangs meet the Cleveland Rams (Clayton, NC) in a non-league match, on Thursday, December 28. Middle Creek will attempt to better on its 6-4 season record. The Rams enter the match with a 5-5 record after their 78-56 non-league win over Nash Central (Rocky Mount, NC).
Next up, the Trojans play the Smithfield-Selma Spartans (Smithfield, NC) in a 3A Quad County challenge, on Wednesday, January 3. South Johnston will attempt to improve on its 1-6 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 2-6 record after their 75-52 non-league loss to Triton (Erwin, NC).
