Gibbs Eagles (Corryton, TN) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Knoxville Central Bobcats (Knoxville, TN), 64-57 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gibbs upgrades its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Pigeon Forge (Pigeon Forge, TN) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 4. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 6-6. Pigeon Forge lost 47-41 in their recent non-league bout against Tellico Plains (Tellico Plains, TN)

Next up, the Bobcats play the South-Doyle Cherokees (Knoxville, TN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 5. Knoxville Central will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Cherokees come into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 80-19 non-league win over Eagleton College & Career Academy (Maryville, TN).
