Texas High School Basketball - Athens knocks off Nacogdoches

In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Athens Hornets basketball team scored a good 50-42 win over the Nacogdoches Dragons.
The Hornets (10-7) will now prepare for their contest against Kemp (Kemp, TX). The Yellowjackets come into the 4A Region II District 15 contest with a 9-13 record. In their last contest, Kemp was topped by Pine Tree (Longview, TX), 67-42, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Dragons battle the Van Alstyne Panthers (Van Alstyne, TX) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, December 28. Nacogdoches will attempt to better on its 7-7 season record. The Panthers come into the contest with a 6-13 record after their 77-57 non-league win over Big Sandy (Big Sandy, TX).
