In Friday's non-league contest, the host Erie-Prophetstown Panthers basketball team scored a close 58-53 win over the Beecher Bobcats.

The Panthers (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against Mercer County (Aledo, IL). The Golden Eagles come into the non-league contest with a 7-6 record. In their last contest, Mercer County edged Pittsfield (Pittsfield, IL), 60-57, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Bobcats battle the Donovan Wildcats (Donovan, IL) in a River Valley contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Beecher will attempt to better on its 7-6 season record. The Wildcats come into the contest with a 2-9 record after their 58-28 non-league loss to Milford (Milford, IL).
