In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Pennfield Panthers basketball team scored a close 48-41 triumph over the Central Bearcats.

The Panthers (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Lakewood (Lake Odessa, MI). The Vikings go into the non-league contest with a 2-5 record. In their last contest, Lakewood was tipped by Portland (Portland, MI), 50-36, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Bearcats confront the Thornton Fractional North Meteors (Calumet City, IL) in a non-league contest, on Sunday, December 29. Central will attempt to better on its 1-8 season record. The Meteors go into the contest with a 6-3 record after their 64-22 non-league win over Hansberry (Chicago, IL).
