Next, the Wildcats encounter the West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league test, on Friday, January 3. Clovis will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Mustangs come into the test with a 6-2 record after their 84-62 non-league win over Del Norte (Albuquerque, NM).

The Pirates (11-7) will now prepare for their test against Monterey (Lubbock, TX). The Plainsmen come into the 5A Region I District 3 test with a 8-14 record. In their last test, Monterey was nipped by Hillcrest (Dallas, TX), 58-49, in a non-league test.
