The Hempfield Area Spartans basketball team scored 63 points and limited the host Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions to 49 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Friday.

The Spartans now possess a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Greensburg Salem for a non-league game on Saturday, December 28. Hempfield Area will confront a Golden Lions team coming off a 53-47 non-league loss to Southmoreland (Alverton, PA). The Golden Lions record now stands at 1-6.

With the loss, Greensburg Central Catholic falls to 8-1 on the campaign. The Centurions travel to Ligonier Valley (Ligonier, PA) to confront the Rams in a non-league game on Saturday, December 28. The Rams go into the game with a record of 6-3. Ligonier Valley won 69-38 in their recent non-league game against Yough (Herminie, PA)
