The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Hephzibah Rebels (Hephzibah, GA) and the host Josey Eagles (Augusta, GA), observed Hephzibah's basketball team edge Josey by a margin of 43-38.

The Rebels (4-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Harlem (Harlem, GA). The Bulldogs come into the AAA Region 4 challenge with a 5-6 record. In their last challenge, Harlem edged West Laurens (Dexter, GA), 57-53, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Washington-Wilkes Tigers (Washington, GA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 3. Josey will attempt to better on its 1-6 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 0-10 record after their 62-40 league loss to Lincoln County (Lincolnton, GA).
