Connecticut High School Basketball - Middletown holds off Portland

In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Middletown Blue Dragons basketball team scored a close 53-49 triumph over the Portland Highlanders.
The Blue Dragons (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Manchester (Manchester, CT). The Red Hawks go into the non-league contest with a 5-0 record. In their last contest, Manchester nipped St. Joseph (Trumbull, CT), 109-68, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Highlanders confront the St. Joseph Cadets (Trumbull, CT) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, December 28. Portland will attempt to better on its 1-2 season record. The Cadets go into the contest with a 1-1 record after their 83-61 non-league win over Masuk (Monroe, CT).
