In Friday's non-league contest, the host Nutley Maroon Raiders basketball team scored a good 67-55 triumph over the Morristown Colonials.
The Maroon Raiders (4-0) will now prepare for their contest against Glen Ridge (Glen Ridge, NJ). The Ridgers go into the Super Essex - Independence contest with a 4-1 record. In their last contest, Glen Ridge topped Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NJ), 57-47, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Colonials battle the Bard Early College Raptors (Newark, NJ) in a Freelance contest, on Saturday, December 28. Morristown will attempt to better on its 2-4 season record. The Raptors go into the contest with a 0-3 record after their 61-46 non-league loss to Kearny (Kearny, NJ).
