New Jersey High School Basketball - Payne Tech nudges North Star Academy

The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Payne Tech Lions (Newark, NJ) and the visiting North Star Academy (Newark, NJ), observed Payne Tech's basketball team edge North Star Academy by a score of 56-50.

The Lions (3-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Newark Tech (Newark, NJ). The Terries come into the Super Essex - Liberty challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Newark Tech was tipped by Hudson Catholic (Jersey City, NJ), 64-51, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the encounter the West Caldwell Tech Eagles (West Caldwell, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 28. North Star Academy will attempt to improve on its 2-4 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 57-54 league loss to Nutley (Nutley, NJ).
