The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Lamar Vikings (Arlington, TX) and the visiting Everman Bulldogs (Everman, TX), observed Lamar's basketball team edge Everman by a margin of 37-31.

The Vikings (12-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Haltom (Haltom City, TX). The Buffalos come into the 6A Region I District 8 challenge with a 6-11 record. In their last challenge, Haltom edged Nimitz (Irving, TX), 45-31, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Bulldogs battle the Mansfield Timberview Wolves (Arlington, TX) in a 5A Region I District 8 challenge, on Friday, January 3. Everman will attempt to better on its 9-8 season record. The Wolves come into the challenge with a 13-9 record after their 55-42 non-league win over Plano West (Plano, TX).
