Virginia High School Basketball - St. Mary's Ryken knocks off Hayfield

The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the St. Mary's Ryken Knights (Leonardtown, MD) and the host Hayfield Hawks (Alexandria, VA), observed St. Mary's Ryken's basketball team overcome Hayfield by a margin of 61-42.
The Knights (9-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Henrico (Richmond, VA). The Warriors come into the non-league challenge with a 5-1 record. In their last challenge, Henrico dropped by Archbishop Spalding (Severn, MD), 61-46, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Hawks battle the Annandale Atoms (Annandale, VA) in a District 3 challenge, on Friday, January 3. Hayfield will attempt to better on its 5-4 season record. The Atoms come into the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 62-19 non-league loss to George C. Marshall (Falls Church, VA).
