Virginia High School Basketball - Independence thwarts Louisa County

December 27, 2024: Ashburn, VA

The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Independence (Ashburn, VA) and the visiting Louisa County Lions (Mineral, VA), observed Independence's basketball team knock off Louisa County by a score of 56-42.

The (4-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Fauquier (Warrenton, VA). The Falcons come into the non-league challenge with a 2-4 record. In their last challenge, Fauquier prevailed over Manassas Park (Manassas Park, VA), 52-25, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Lions encounter the Eastern View Cyclones (Culpeper, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 28. Louisa County will attempt to improve on its 4-3 season record. The Cyclones come into the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 82-25 league loss to James Monroe (Fredericksburg, VA).
