North Carolina High School Basketball - Washington County thwarts Northampton County

December 27, 2024: Gaston, NC 27832

The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Washington County Panthers (Plymouth, NC) and the host Northampton County Jaguars (Gaston, NC), observed Washington County's basketball team knock off Northampton County by a score of 59-39.

The Panthers (3-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Holmes (Edenton, NC). The Aces come into the non-league challenge with a 2-5 record. In their last challenge, Holmes prevailed over Bertie (Windsor, NC), 41-23, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Jaguars encounter the Warren County Eagles (Warrenton, NC) in a 1A Tar Roanoke challenge, on Friday, January 3. Northampton County will attempt to improve on its 2-6 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 73-33 non-league loss to Vance County (Henderson, NC).
