    The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the St. Bede Bruins (Peru, IL) and the visiting Sandwich Indians (Sandwich, IL), observed St. Bede's basketball team knock off Sandwich by a score of 52-36.

    The Bruins (8-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Orion (Orion, IL). The Chargers come into the non-league challenge with a 5-9 record. In their last challenge, Orion prevailed over Sandwich (Sandwich, IL), 43-38, in a non-league challenge.

    In their next game, the Indians encounter the Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 8. Sandwich will attempt to improve on its 8-6 season record. The Coalers come into the challenge with a 7-5 record after their 32-29 non-league loss to Westmont (Westmont, IL).
