California High School Basketball - Newbury Park thwarts Golden Valley

The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Newbury Park Panthers (Newbury Park, CA) and the visiting Golden Valley Grizzlies (Santa Clarita, CA), observed Newbury Park's basketball team knock off Golden Valley by a score of 62-42.

The Panthers (8-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Valencia (Valencia, CA). The Vikings come into the non-league challenge with a 11-4 record. In their last challenge, Valencia prevailed over Knight (Palmdale, CA), 67-49, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Grizzlies encounter the Saugus Centurions (Saugus, CA) in a challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Golden Valley will attempt to improve on its 5-6 season record. The Centurions come into the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 69-51 non-league loss to Chaminade (West Hills, CA).
