    • Georgia High School Basketball - Pierce County holds off Montgomery County

    December 28, 2021: Blackshear, GA 31516

    Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Pierce County Bears (Blackshear, GA) and the visiting Montgomery County Eagles (Mt. Vernon, GA), saw Pierce County's basketball squad hold off Montgomery County by a tally of 49-45.

    With the victory, Pierce County improves its record to 9-1 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Jefferson County (Louisville, GA) to confront the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, December 29. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 1-6.

    Next up, the Eagles confront the Wilcox County Patriots (Rochelle, GA) in a A Public Region 4 challenge, on Tuesday, January 4. Montgomery County will attempt to advance on its 8-1 season record. The Patriots go into the outing with a 1-5 record after their 68-35 non-league loss to Turner County (Ashburn, GA).
