The Benedictine Cadets basketball team scored 72 points and held the visiting Meadowbrook Monarchs to 42 in the Cadets non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Cadets now sport a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cristo Rey for a Freelance contest on Tuesday, January 3. Benedictine will meet a Royals team coming off a 61-53 non-league loss to Hanover (Mechanicsville, VA). The Royals record now stands at 2-9.

The Monarchs (1-7) will now prepare for their contest against Hopewell (Hopewell, VA). The Blue Devils enter the Central contest with a 6-2 record. In their last contest, Hopewell triumphed over Henrico (Richmond, VA), 55-50, in a non-league contest.
