Cedar Ridge Timberwolves (Newark, AR) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Melbourne Bearkatz (Melbourne, AR), 58-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cedar Ridge upgrades its record to 10-4 on the season. The Timberwolves travel to Marshall (Marshall, AR) to clash with the Bobcats in a 2A Region 2 bout on Saturday, January 7. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 14-4. Marshall lost 68-62 in their recent league bout against Sloan-Hendrix (Imboden, AR)

Next up, the Bearkatz clash with the Cave City Cavemen (Cave City, AR) in a 3A Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Melbourne will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Cavemen go into the bout with a 3-8 record after their 73-31 non-league loss to Greene County Tech (Paragould, AR).
