Windber Ramblers (Windber, PA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Chestnut Ridge Lions (New Paris, PA), 45-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Windber upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Ramblers host Portage (Portage, PA) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 9-0.

Next up, the Lions play the Bishop McCort Crushers (Johnstown, PA) in a Laurel Highlands bout, on Wednesday, January 4. Chestnut Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Crushers come into the bout with a 4-4 record after their 74-49 non-league win over Everett (Everett, PA).
