Texas High School Basketball - Wharton can't hold off Fort Bend Willowridge

The Fort Bend Willowridge Eagles basketball team scored 54 points and restricted the host Wharton Tigers to 53 in the Eagles non-league victory on Wednesday.

The Eagles now sport a 6-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fort Bend Kempner for a 5A Region III District 20 contest on Tuesday, January 3. Fort Bend Willowridge will battle a Cougars team coming off a 69-37 non-league loss to Angleton (Angleton, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 12-8.

The Tigers (10-11) will now prepare for their contest against Navasota (Navasota, TX). The Rattlers come into the 4A Region IV District 25 contest with a 5-9 record. In their last contest, Navasota was nudged by Orangefield (Orangefield, TX), 54-33, in a non-league contest.
