Hamlin Chargers (Hayti, SD) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Howard Tigers (Howard, SD), 55-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hamlin upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Chargers host Dell Rapids (Dell Rapids, SD) to clash with the Quarriers in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 31. The Quarriers go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Dell Rapids won 57-44 in their recent league bout against West Central (Hartford, SD)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Lower Brule Sioux (Lower Brule, SD) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 30. Howard will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Sioux go into the bout with a 4-2 record after their 62-48 non-league loss to Aberdeen Christian (Aberdeen, SD).
