Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Holy Cross Cougars (Louisville, KY) and the host Sayre Spartans (Lexington, KY), saw Holy Cross's basketball squad overcome Sayre by a tally of 71-57.

With the victory, Holy Cross improves its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Cougars host Iroquois (Louisville, KY) to play the Raiders in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 7. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 8-3.

The Spartans (6-4) will now prepare for their battle against Henry Clay (Lexington, KY). The Blue Devils come into the District 42 battle with a 5-4 record. In their last battle, Henry Clay dropped by Simon Kenton (Independence, KY), 66-57, in a non-league battle.
