Wheaton Knights (Silver Spring, MD) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting KIPP College Prep Panthers (Washington, DC), 45-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Wheaton upgrades its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Knights host Suitland (Forestville, MD) to play the Rams in a Prince George's County 4A bout on Thursday, December 29. The Rams come into the bout with a record of 4-2. Suitland won 59-54 in their recent league bout against Northwood (Silver Spring, MD)

Next up, the Panthers play the Northwood Gladiators (Silver Spring, MD) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 29. KIPP College Prep will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Gladiators come into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 59-54 league loss to Suitland (Forestville, MD).
