The Gordon Longhorns basketball team scored 47 points and held the visiting Poolville Monarchs to 40 in the Longhorns non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Longhorns now sport a 17-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gorman for a 1A Region III District 19 contest on Friday, December 30. Gordon will meet a Panthers team coming off a 83-8 league win over Three Way (Stephenville, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 19-0.

The Monarchs (6-12) will now prepare for their contest against Santo (Santo, TX). The Wildcats enter the 2A Region II District 11 contest with a 6-9 record. In their last contest, Santo nudged Ranger (Ranger, TX), 36-21, in a league contest.
