In Wednesday's non-league battle, the host Costa Mesa Mustangs soccer squad scored a close 3-1 triumph over the Laguna Hills Hawks.

The Mustangs (2-13) will now prepare for their battle against Saddleback (Santa Ana, CA). The Roadrunners come into the Orange Coast battle with a 3-3 record. In their last test, Saddleback by Mission Viejo (Mission Viejo, CA), 1-0, in a non-league test.

With the loss, Laguna Hills drops to 1-6 on the season. The Hawks travel to Woodbridge (Irvine, CA) to meet the Warriors in a Pacific Coast test on Tuesday, January 3. The Warriors come into the test with a record of 4-2. Woodbridge lost 2-1 in their recent non-league test against Rancho Buena Vista (Vista, CA)
