In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Mabel-Canton Cougars basketball team scored a tight 60-57 triumph over the Alden-Conger Knights.

In their next game, the Cougars face the Lanesboro Burros (Lanesboro, MN) in a A Section 1 match, on Thursday, January 4. Mabel-Canton will attempt to move on its 4-5 season record. The Burros enter the match with a 2-7 record after their 64-30 league loss to Spring Grove (Spring Grove, MN).
