Lingleville Cardinals (Lingleville, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Anson Tigers (Anson, TX), 57-56 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lingleville upgrades its record to 11-10 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Gorman (Gorman, TX) to clash with the Panthers in a 1A Region III District 19 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 3-11. Gorman won 42-19 in their recent non-league bout against Bangs (Bangs, TX)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Hawley Bearcats (Hawley, TX) in a 2A Region II District 10 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Anson will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record. The Bearcats go into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 61-53 non-league win over Kingdom Prep Academy (Lubbock, TX).
