Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Nelson (Happy Valley, OR) and the visiting Central Panthers (Independence, OR), witnessed Nelson's basketball squad beat Central by a margin of 81-73.
The (5-4) will now prepare for their test against South Salem (Salem, OR). The Saxons go into the non-league test with a 4-5 record. In their last test, South Salem thwarted Churchill (Eugene, OR), 69-39, in a non-league test.
The Panthers now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Churchill for a non-league test on Friday, December 29. Central will encounter a Lancers squad coming off a 69-39 non-league loss to South Salem (Salem, OR). The Lancers record now stands at 3-5.
