Lewiston Blue Devils (Lewiston, ME) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Deering Rams (Portland, ME), 44-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lewiston upgrades its record to 1-5 on the season. The Blue Devils travel to Cheverus (Portland, ME) to play the Stags in a AA North bout on Saturday, December 30. The Stags go into the bout with a record of 7-1. Cheverus lost 59-51 in their recent non-league challenge against Scarborough (Scarborough, ME)

Next up, the Rams confront the South Portland Red Riots (South Portland, ME) in a AA South challenge, on Thursday, January 4. Deering will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record. The Red Riots come into the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 55-50 non-league win over Edward Little (Auburn, ME).
