Independence Wildcats (Independence, MS) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Delta Academy Raiders (Marks, MS), 76-26 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Independence upgrades its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Vardaman (Vardaman, MS) to play the Rams in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Rams come into the bout with a record of 4-7. Vardaman won 53-52 in their recent non-league bout against Winston Academy (Louisville, MS)

Next up, the Raiders play the West Union Eagles (Myrtle, MS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. Delta Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 15-3 record after their 88-62 non-league win over West Memphis Christian (West Memphis, AR).
