Harmony School of Excellence Hawks (Laredo, TX) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Freer Buckaroos (Freer, TX), 46-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Harmony School of Excellence upgrades its record to 4-9 on the campaign. The Hawks host King (Kingsville, TX) to play the Brahmas in a 4A Region IV District 31 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Brahmas come into the bout with a record of 9-9. King lost 72-41 in their recent non-league bout against Brenham (Brenham, TX)

Next up, the Buckaroos play the La Villa Cardinals (La Villa, TX) in a 2A Region IV District 32 bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Freer will attempt to upgrade on its 5-14 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 0-13 record after their 50-20 non-league loss to George West (George West, TX).
