Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Leavitt Hornets (Turner, ME), 67-43 in a league bout.

With the victory, Spruce Mountain upgrades its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Phoenix host Morse (Bath, ME) to play the Shipbuilders in a B South bout on Saturday, December 30. The Shipbuilders come into the bout with a record of 1-4. Morse lost 64-35 in their recent league bout against Medomak Valley (Waldoboro, ME)

Next up, the Hornets play the Morse Shipbuilders (Bath, ME) in a B South bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Leavitt will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Shipbuilders come into the bout with a 1-5 record after their 51-43 league loss to Spruce Mountain (Jay, ME).
