Kentucky High School Basketball - Union County knocked off by Mayfield

The Mayfield Cardinals basketball team scored 54 points and held the host Union County Braves to 45 in the Cardinals non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Cardinals now sport a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mt. Vernon for a non-league contest on Friday, December 29. Mayfield will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 61-47 league loss to Heritage Hills (Lincoln City, IN). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-3.

The Braves (6-4) will now prepare for their contest against South Warren (Bowling Green, KY). The Spartans enter the non-league contest with a 6-4 record. In their last contest, South Warren ran past Ballard Memorial (Barlow, KY), 67-53, in a non-league contest.
