Boyd Broncos (McKinney, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Melissa Cardinals (Melissa, TX), 66-58 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Boyd upgrades its record to 13-6 on the season. The Broncos travel to Lone Star (Frisco, TX) to play the Rangers in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 28. The Rangers go into the bout with a record of 13-3. Lone Star won 73-68 in their recent non-league bout against Tyler Legacy (Tyler, TX)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Sherman Bearcats (Sherman, TX) in a 5A Region II District 13 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Melissa will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Bearcats go into the bout with a 17-2 record after their 58-44 non-league win over Ennis (Ennis, TX).
