North Carolina High School Basketball - Northern Guilford can't hold off Wakefield

The Wakefield Wolverines basketball team scored 63 points and restricted the host Northern Guilford Nighthawks to 57 in the Wolverines non-league victory on Thursday.

The Wolverines now sport a 10-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hoggard for a non-league contest on Friday, December 29. Wakefield will battle a Vikings team coming off a 66-61 non-league win over Pamlico County (Bayboro, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 7-3.

The Nighthawks (8-2) will now prepare for their contest against Clayton (Clayton, NC). The Comets come into the non-league contest with a 5-3 record. In their last contest, Clayton was nudged by New Hanover (Wilmington, NC), 51-45, in a non-league contest.
