The Westfield Area Pioneers basketball team scored 50 points and restricted the visiting Rio Vikings to 37 in the Pioneers non-league victory on Thursday.

The Pioneers now sport a 4-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Nekoosa for a South Central contest on Friday, January 5. Westfield Area will battle a Papermakers team coming off a 65-62 league loss to Mauston (Mauston, WI). The Papermakers record now stands at 6-3.

The Vikings (0-9) will now prepare for their contest against Palmyra-Eagle (Palmyra, WI). The Panthers come into the non-league contest with a 7-1 record. In their last contest, Palmyra-Eagle prevailed over Parkview (Orfordville, WI), 70-45, in a league contest.
