Civic Memorial Eagles (Bethalto, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Vienna Eagles (Vienna, IL), 61-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Civic Memorial upgrades its record to 13-1 on the season. The Eagles travel to Goreville (Goreville, IL) to clash with the Blackcats in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Blackcats go into the bout with a record of 16-0. Goreville won 49-46 in their recent non-league bout against Carterville (Carterville, IL)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Sesser-Valier/Waltonville Red Devils (Sesser, IL) in a Black Diamond - West bout, on Thursday, January 4. Vienna will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Red Devils go into the bout with a 5-8 record after their 47-31 non-league win over Sparta (Sparta, IL).
