Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) and the visiting Concord Academy Eagles (Concord, NC), saw Freedom's basketball squad overcome Concord Academy by a tally of 48-35.

With the victory, Freedom improves its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Patriots host Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to confront the Panthers in a 3A/4A Northwestern challenge on Friday, January 12. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 10-1.

Next up, the Eagles confront the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors (Indian Trail, NC) in a NCISAA Metrolina challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Concord Academy will attempt to improve on its 9-2 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 5-6 record after their 77-24 non-league loss to Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, NC).
