North Carolina High School Basketball - East Rutherford routs Draughn

In Thursday's non-league outing, the East Rutherford Cavaliers (Forest City, NC) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), by a margin of 78-53.

The Cavaliers (10-1) will now prepare for their match against Crest (Shelby, NC). The Chargers enter the non-league match with a 6-1 record. In their last match, Crest crushed Hendersonville (Hendersonville, NC), 69-37, in a non-league match.

With the defeat, Draughn moves to 4-8 on the year. The Wildcats host Mitchell (Bakersville, NC) to meet the Mountaineers in a 1A/2A Western Highlands match on Friday, January 5. The Mountaineers enter the match with a record of 5-5. Mitchell won 70-30 in their recent non-league match against Andrews (Andrews, NC)
