The Sherman Bearcats basketball team (Sherman, TX), dropped 56-45 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host Emerson Mavericks (McKinney, TX)
The Mavericks now possess a 11-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Heritage for a 5A Region II District 10 battle on Tuesday, January 2. Emerson will battle a Coyotes team coming off a 46-39 non-league win over The Colony (The Colony, TX). The Coyotes record now stands at 10-12.
The Bearcats (2-14) will now prepare for their battle against Melissa (Melissa, TX). The Cardinals come into the 5A Region II District 13 battle with a 15-7 record. In their last battle, Melissa prevailed over Carter (Dallas, TX), 56-31, in a non-league battle.
