Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Hermleigh Cardinals (Hermleigh, TX) and the visiting New Deal Lions (New Deal, TX), saw Hermleigh's basketball squad wallop New Deal by a tally of 63-28.
With the victory, Hermleigh improves its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Comanche (Comanche, TX) to confront the Indians in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 28. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 16-1. Comanche won 91-49 in their recent league challenge against Breckenridge (Breckenridge, TX)
Next up, the Lions confront the Ralls Jackrabbits (Ralls, TX) in a 2A Region I District 4 challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. New Deal will attempt to improve on its 12-8 season record. The Jackrabbits come into the challenge with a 3-9 record after their 79-24 league loss to Sudan (Sudan, TX).
