North Carolina High School Basketball - Polk County nips High Point Academy

December 28, 2023: Columbus, NC 28722

Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting High Point Academy Grizzlies (Spartanburg, SC), 62-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Polk County upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Wolverines travel to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 8-2. Mountain Heritage won 63-22 in their recent league bout against Owen (Black Mountain, NC)

Next up, the Grizzlies play the Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. High Point Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 9-3 season record. The Warhorses come into the bout with a 2-9 record after their 63-22 league loss to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC).
