In Thursday's non-league match, the host Lewis County Lions basketball team scored a tight 56-51 triumph over the Ironton Fighting Tigers.
In their next game, the Lions meet the Raceland Rams (Raceland, KY) in a District 63 match, on Tuesday, January 2. Lewis County will attempt to move on its 4-7 season record.
With the defeat, Ironton moves to 4-6 on the year. The Fighting tigers travel to Gallia Academy (Gallipolis, OH) to meet the Blue Devils in a Ohio Valley match on Thursday, January 4. The Blue Devils enter the match with a record of 2-6.
